Sheep eye clock

While working on Stereochron Island, I read that herders and farmers in parts of Europe loosely judged the time by their animals’ eye pupils changing shape. I was intrigued to take a camera to the sheep field. These photos show the eyes of two ewes at successive moments at the end of the day.
